DX 9.0b

Anyone heard of or experienced any problems with it? Has anyone installed it? Worth doing?

Wanted to get some feedback from before I stick it in

w00t Where can I download DirectX v9.0b ? I've tried microsoft.com/directx but they haven't got it there. Also tried searching google but all I could find were some Chinese websites

Ummm its in Windows Update for me (XP)....

Windows update doesn't work for me, when I scan for updates nothing comes up, not xp service pack 1b or directx 9.0b eventhough I'm running directx 8.1

9.0b also includes the critical security fix that compromises other DXs on Windows systems:

As far as I know, DirectX 9.0b is an updated version of the original DX9 runtime which includes bug fixes and improves performance in the graphics and networking components. That said, there are no new or modified APIs in this release, hence only 'b' suffix. It was rumoured that DirectX 9.1 will be released in the coming months when the latest hardware from nVidia and ATi is released, but that hasn't been confirmed as yet.
