Dvd-rw

I am d/l a lot of TV episodes at the moment and the bastard who encodes them has them at 800mb each, which is too big for my CD-RW

I was wondering what kinda DVD-RW I could get, I last heard there wasn't a proper standard yet?

Anyone got any recommendations?

Pioneer have just released the A-105, so the A-104 should be cheaper shortly if its price that bothers you. If price don't bother you then apparently the Sony one is the best, its 4x write and it also does the 7gb discs(which the Pioneer doesn't), I am also toying with the idea of getting one now that the discs are cheap.

Actually there is 3 formats/standards, DVD-R/RW then DVD+R/RW and finally DVD-RAM.

Some drives are arriving soon that will enable you to do the two main formats DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW, such as the Sony DRU500A...its a good price too:

I've had the A-104 for a while now and its good but the thing to remember is that you don't tend to use them too often
