Hi, I have some DVD - RW's which I can burn to fine as well as DVD+ but my DVD player on the TV cannot read DVD+ but it can read DVD-RW.

So I went and got some DVD- presuming my DVD player on the TV will be able to read those.

The problem is that I put the DVD- disk into my DVD RW on the PC and in explorer it says CD instead of DVD RW drive. When I right click and do properties it says 0mb as the capacity but knows a disk is present.

I have tried on 2 PC's which are dual drives too so I know they support DVD-

I dont think that the disks are dodgy but I doubt 2 of my PC's are at fault either...

Anyone have any ideas as to why DVD- dont work but DVD+ and DVD-RW do when the burner is a DVD dual?

Thanks, Kevin

Thanks, at least I now know that the disc can be recognised by that program as a DVD. :D
Now to play with getting my DVD drive to recognise it.

Buy a better DVd player that plays all types of DVD's. Got 3 Dvd players in the house, all different brands, and they all play + and - varieties.
