OK I should know but Ive never used em before

How do you read private messages

-- says ive got one unread msg but i have no idea how to access it !

In the top right area of the forum is a row of buttons starting "profile" ending with "home".

Click on the "profile" one
Select a private message to read from the list displayed in the upper area of this profile screen.
Easy!
