Dumb problem No 2

Hi, I've installed a printer on my Dad's new machine, I downloaded the latest drivers and installed them and the printer works fine. The only problem is that every time the computer boots I get the new hardware wizard! As far as I can tell the printer is installed properly and yet every time I boot it up I get a nice window to install it. I can cancel the window and the printer still works as it should. I have tried the 'Do not prompt me to install this again' box but that doesn't work. Is there a way to turn off the hardware wizard as there won't be any new hardware on this machine for a fair while or does anyone have a suggetion to stop this irritating sod. The printer is a Samsung ML-4500 btw if that helps.
Thanks,
Ben.

I'd suggest just running through the set up? If you end up with two Printers you can eitehr ignore the non default one, or delete it, or do as I do and set the default set up on teh duplicate to "draft" printing so that you can easily access the set up without having to traul Print Options :)

I just get error message by running through the setup, it seems to not be able to find the drivers that it's already using! Ah well, less beer; more coherent thought. Will try again in the morning.

Basically, run through the set up, give it the drivers again and it *should* go away :)

You may end up with a duplicate, with which you can do as you wish. :)

Interestingly some part of the internet that I missed yesturday says that the Samsung ML-4500 should be installed as a Lexmark E210 printer under windows XP to stop the repeated add new hardware problem. Now why didn't I think of that.
Ah well it works - or seems to so far.

Thanks for your time,
Ben.
