Duke Nukem: Manhatten Project

Just got this and I'm blown away!

I'm a sucker for anything Duke and was expecting another "Land of the babes" style letdown but this game is truly great, nice simple, blastin' fun. The £20 price tag is also a thing of loveliness I notice it's got a bit of a mediocre response from the gaming press. Anyone got any thoughts?

Played the demo, and it was good fun. But I think the full version would get boring pretty quickly...

I played the demo yesterday. It killed a few minutes but I don't feel any desire to play any more of it. The backgrounds are pretty for a platform shooter and the viewpoint occasionally moves around in some clever ways, but the movement seemed cumbersome and there were too many times I was unable to see what was ahead, even using the weak 'free-look' button.

What frustrated me more though, was one point where I was being shot by an off-screen mutant pig (?) but I couldn't shoot back. My 'hits' weren't registering becuause the pig was off-screen. Also, too often solid platforms appear to be just background detail and vice versa.

Drab and not worth the £20 price tag.

The best platform game so far is still Abe's Exoddus, imo.

Indeed, the first one was good too, I've just finished Munch's Oddysee on my *cough*xbox*cough* Great game, gotta do it again & rescue all the mudokons...

Only DN4E for me...looked at the box and bought Super Smash Bros Melee instead for me cube ...which is good fun to play
