I would just like to say a big thankyou to the majority of people who took part in the big duel today.
However I would also like to say to Nolby Pride and which ever other guilds chose to ally with them, that you brought shame upon midgard today.
I took part in the duels for nearly 3 hours, and 99% of people fought with great honour, however some people acting like prats decided to come and slaughter everyone at the end, nice job guys, very heroic...
Ok I understand for you bunch of fools that all you care about is RP and xp, but why spoil it??
In all fairness it wasn't till about 5pm that a bunch of kids showed up and ruined it. Untill then all guilds acted honourably, with the slight exception of sevreral abs, one of which decided to attack me whist trying to res, ok could have been a mistake so fair enough...
And why on earth was one person shouting "READ ALLIANCE CHAT FFS, KILL THEM ALL!" great.....

However as a group of us where sat around, having friendly duels, Oloren from cutting edge decides to jump in, and kill him when he's sat down no less... Your are an iddiot and i'm ashamed to have you in our realm..

Dueling is illigal so if someone decides to feast on you easy prays then its your problem not thiers=) Goa probably gave them a clap on their shoulders when they were done with u hehe.

If you want dueling then you should try Everquest hehe.

Hmm I like to think this game isn't quake mate, perhaps some people like to play a little bit more than a Rp farmer with a frag count....
I believe that there is a time and place for everything... I seriously think that rvr would be overly boring if every battle only lasted a couple of seconds, as quite often as the lag monster kicks in you lose all sembleance of organisation.
Why not allow enemies to fight one on one? Hold on a sec, this isn't a fantasy game is it? Cos in all traditional fantasy stories/genres champions never met one to one, the villain and the hero never meet toe-to-toe and draw cold steel... Howw silly of me, next you will be telling me that there's a dragon, and I can get a magical sword....

I dont have anything against duels, but if someone kills you than thats fair play, its the frontier after all..

Np mate it happened a few times and I did it a few times all I object to are the people who perposly do it I had alot of fun out there and were you the guy I did a 350+ dmg hit on, Im a Bard btw lvl 46 so it was very impressive for me

Btw the ppl you mentioned dualed me very honerably abit later just me and them and I had some fun duals with them as well. Especially Lillian who is 47+ who I basically owned, some healer as she used some instas /salute the mids there later but apperentally they acted like twats before

Ahh well godofredo and some cleric where the worst sorry to anyone who died due to rezzing godofredo but he got the hint adventually and left

If you want to duel, do it. If someone comes along and knocks over your tea party set and actualy *shock horror* kills the enemy, don't moan and whinge like children.

Yup. Duels are illegal to begin with (rpsfarming) and secondly its everyones right to kill the enemy in every situation. So if he xps on mob you can find it lame to kill him then but you got every right!! and not only right it should be your bloody duty to wipe them out. They are the enemy remember that.

Surely interfering in a duel could be considered RP leeching and as such is a childish and selfish act which sadly is becoming par for the course in this game, anyone care to explain precisely what they have against dueling, the frontiers are full of people to murder, find your own victims and try not to ruin someone else harmless fun and then make out its alright cos 'its the frontier', 'its war', 'everythings fair game', 'im a dick'

If you die whilst duelling then that's life. No point bitching. If I duel (and I have once or twice) I wouldn't cry because someone killed my opponents, and me.

As I stated elsewhere..you want to duel do it on Gorre when its available...otherwise its a turkey shoot for those of us that don't like it. And since most of you will only be worth 1 RP when we frag you anyway...breaking up duels is hardly done for the rp return.

About Duels:

Many players have been wondering what was the official stance of the event team regarding duels. In order to answer this question, we need to clarify what is hiding behind this simple word; duel.


The unexpected duel, one versus one, leading to the death of the escape of one of the two fighters.
The organised duels with "healer" classes, able to bring back to life slain players.
In the first case, it is an honourable (or not so honourable) duel, with which we have no problem as long as it is unplanned and exceptional.
In the second case however, we face an alteration of the game, allowing players to do what we call "RP farming", the act of "farming" realm points doing many "controlled" duels and sparing the healing classes. For such situations, we will not take direct sanctions against the players even if it is an alteration of the Gameplay. However, do not be surprised if your whole party is slaughtered by wandering guards, friendly jousts have no place when there is realm war going on!

I was laughing big time when I heard some Nolbys went there and organising the stop of the RP farming. I just wonder if one of the initiating Dueling players may be one of those cross realm dual account spy retards.

I dont care myself if you want to duel, but I care less if someone stops it. If not nolby would, rumours say there are a gang of 200 lvl 70 guards to be released by one of the game masters.. dont know if its true.

Still , I have alot of duels with bone eater oracles, but I dont come here and whine when I get killed or exp killed by a lvl 50 from albion or hibernia.

I am either for or against Duells but stop calling it RP-Farming becuse as killgorde said most is woth 1RP or something and 1RP can't be farming... hell u would have to kill many 1RP's to get to the next RR...

and from what i have seen in the forums when they Duell is that they DON'T kill eachother... or at least try not to...

so all this one sentence posts that say "Stop Farmin" is useless. If u want to RP farm there are much easier ways to do it since most of the duells end up in most people getting killed by someone who comes and breaks it up or by roaming guards.

and for the discution on whoever plays the game "right" it is up to everyone to play it right... as long as u live by the rules...

Surely there's a difference tho to a dueler being killed by random guards/players to an alliance ordering its members to kill everything on site?
Ok more simply put alot of people where having a lot of fun testing their abilities one on one, you don't often get a chance in Emain, with groups of lvl 50's running around. So why disrupt it? Don't tell me you where acting honourably and "doing what was right" because disrupting people who are paying to play the game and enjoying a freak event isn't right.
Simply put what makes you better than us? The answer is of course less than nothing.
I'm not gonna argue about the ins and outs of dueling, just this one time. We wheren't RP farming simply because most fights didn't involve a death. And how on earth can it be RP farming if both players are fighting a fair fight? Don't you deserve the RP's if you kill your opponent?
As for saying its all war, does nobody remember what its like getting an exp death? or getting butchered if U go LD? I know that it annoys the hell out of me, and thus I don't do it to others, "this is war" justification or not.
Perhaps if certain people could take their heads out of their own arses they could stop talking shit...

Ok.. as lots of people have said before.. a Deul with NO death resulting in NO rp is ok aslong as it doesnt go on for ages.. as then it isnt rp farming as NO rp is aquired(sp?) any way goa has said they wont (i think) do anything about deulers but if u get killed its your problem not the people that has killed you.. live with it




EDIT: i have nothing against deuls myself as ive had fun with some but i know not to get upset if i get killed by people trying to stop it .. if they want to play the game that way.. let them and play the game how you want to you pay for the game just as much as they do so every one just chill!

Why not pop a zone in simple grass, No guards or mobs and above all no rps gained there. Peeps can go there an duel till the cows come home, An that ends the rps farming idea an just puts it down to man v man or woman v woman or woman v man you get the picture . Less chance of being ganked by a group out to grab a few RPs an ppl can just simpley duel. I mean its not like you never had duels back then is it, or at least i think they did wasn't alive can't be sure Anyway my 2 pennys worth cheques in the post
