Drugs - Its the New Terrorism

I found this little story on Zdnet this morning. I find it a little worrying. Sure, drugs are bad *cough* and the cute little toys that go with it are illegal in the US too, but that is a lot of effort to take to deal with them, especially when there are plenty of bigger fish the US are trying to fry at the moment.

On top of that, is it fair that the DEA will log your IP and any information they can, which they can freely share with other government agencies, by redirecting you from the druggie website to their own?

Pathetic but what do you expect from the "moral majority"?

I'm not convinced that the "Moral Majority" is in fact the majority.

I'm seeing a lot of worrying things coming out of the US at the moment. It concerns me even more because they are in a position to either have ISPs block overseas sites if the content is illegal in the US, or to use techie means to stop anyone being able to access sites. Mr Bush saying hacking is ok if you work for the US government, and fucking with DNS is probably possible too.

Too much power for a bunch of rednecks.
