my paladin is finally level 50 and i'd like to start attending dragon raids, but it seems that most of the raids organised here on FH are for 'experienced raiders'...

my first question is what kind of armour/weapons can i use if i went on a raid... i know that magical damage makes the dragon kinda go a bit mad and kill everyone... does that mean i can't use weapons or armour that reactive proc a dd or anything ?

secondly, together with the armour question above, i'm guessing heat resists are very important... is there anything else i need to worry about while sorting out some armour to wear ?

finally, would there be a chance that I could attend a couple of raids just to watch or something, to gain the 'experience' i need to be able to attend some of the regular raids...? i won't be able to this next week (coz i'll be sorting out a dragon raid type template), but i should be able to come along from next weekend...

thanks for reading

I'm not too sure about procs being magical damage, but legendary weapons are apparently useless. As for your template, I reckon you'll want capped heat and melee resists. (Like any PVE template) And decent stats. Though, once he decides to chew on you you have to rely on your healers anyway. He hits my cleric for the odd 700 damage. I don't think you'll need an über template, but anything decent would be recommended. Über templates for PVE are usually people PVEing in their RVR tunic. ;)

Also, I know the raids say experienced only, but I've seen first timers fight along. The way Talsar organizes his raids makes it slightly harder for newbies to totally mess things up. (Scout taking the glares from a distance, etc) So if you pay attention to the introduction macros he runs beforehand and pay attention to what Golestandt is doing and what Talsar is saying, it wont be much of a problem. Oh, and AFKing during the raid is a big nono! :)

Dragon is 100% immune to magic. So legendary weapons, procs on weapons, ... are useless. But they don't make the Dragon any more angry then he already is ^^

Dragon is only 75% immune to magic as MW raids in the past proved

just classic SC (capped resists, + 11 parry shield slash, +75 str / con / dex / qui) is fine. Might want to throw in some catacombs and toa nifty stuff. Best change on joining is hang around gatheringpoint and hope for no show and you the only pally there. DOn't go afk and concentrate very hard on doing your job (usually explained) and you will be a regular soonish
