Dragon Raid - Thu 7th Oct - FULLY OPTED 25player raid

Ok here goes with a new idea.....

A 25 player Dragon Raid... I don't think its been done before in this format but I see no reason why it can't be done though. There was a discussion about this a while ago on these forums but nothign came of it and I didnt get round to planning a method of implementing it until now...


THE RULES:

You MUST have been on one of MY previous dragon raids before OR are known as an experienced dragon raider. This setup IS NOT for ppl new to killing Gjalpunulva.

You MUST be level 50 with very high cold resist (ideally with a full sc suit maxing hp aswell).

You (ideally) will be already known to me from my normal format dragon raids so I will know if you are reliable, alert, helpful and experienced. For this raid I will be VERY SPECIFIC about who I pick and will pick only the people I KNOW will work well in the setup. AFK'ers will be booted, thrashed, kicked and generally flogged within an inch of their lives and ofc never come on any raids in the future

There will be 4 groups made up as 3 groups of 7 people to attack the dragon and 1 group of 4 people to guard the exits. Obviously you must be of a specific class to fit in this raid especially for group4 as you will all be at an exit alone so must be able to pull from range and kill 2 orange con mobs alone (possibly 3). You may run to the mound if in trouble though of course. Good examples of group 4 classes would be Thanes, Skalds, Hunters and Bonedancers would be ideal. Also if you are in g4 I encourage you to bring ur buffbot if u have one and stick it to your backside hehe. If you feel you can be in group 4 then explain why and ofc I will consider you. Group 4 is in no way the weaker group in this setup and the rewards are there for everyone as I will be giving 2 respec stones to ALL 25 ppl on the raid

This raid will only have 1 pac healer for CC'ing the adds so it cannot be done without power fonts. I will be looking for high level Perfectors - I estimate we will need 5-6 ppl with at least ml5 perfector in the main 3 groups.

Tha advantage of this setup is EVERYONE in the raid will get 2 respec stones (1 full skill and 1 realm ability) including of course the g4 solo exit guarders. This has not been done before and in the past group 4 people have often come away from the raid with nothing to show for turning up. This format there will be less people rolling for the remains and drops and everyone will be guaranteed at least to come away with something nice.

Due to the lack of a 3rd healer in 2 of the groups the shamans are expected (as usual) to have a hard job and to try to heal aswell as buff when possible. The single pac healer is responsible for pox on other healers/shamans/rm's but their main job is to do crowd control on ALL adds (green con dogs, orange con retrievers and purp con drakulvs). The FoP's should more than make up for the lack of pox during the raid when ppl die.

When applying for this raid plz state ALL THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION: Character name, Exact Spec, Realm Rank, Master Level and any other information you feel relevant. All shamans and healers should state their +heal effectiveness percentage. Plz state if you have a Croc Ring at level 10 on your rm or Egg of Youth at level 10 on healer or shammy. Also if you plan to bring a BB then plz state its name aswell in your post.

If this raid is a success as I hope it to be then I will be running these raids on a regular basis ASWELL as my usual open wednesday raids for a while.

One last thing... these raids may well become closed raids unlike my open wednesday ones so if you feel you can turn up most thursdays then also plz say so in your post.

doesnt have to be a "opted" setup, our alliance (norrsken) did a 25player DR a week or two ago, had skalds, thanes and SBs in the groups, so this whole deal about "wtfoptedpwns" thing is just a show for the pigs imo

of course we had 2-4 seers in the main groups, 1 tank, 1 pbt and the rest whatever, on guardduty we had one person at each exit, and that person must have ranged AE, that way no retreivers got through and after an hour we were 25 merry little mids

so they key to success is that you have one player with aerange at each exit, hence hunters and bds kinda such arse on that duty, skalds .. well not that good, thanes and SM/RM's excels here, if they get more than they can handle just move into the lair and let the main groups deal with it

just thought you wanted to know that as long as you have a good foundation to stand on, you can fill the group with almost any kind of char, know that a lot of people are being turned down since they're not "perfect" for killing the dragon

oh and a biggie is that you kinda must have all attendees use /rpfilter, saves your hineys quite a lot

Reason for applying: Joining anything that requires tactics, other than RvR, is certainly worth my time. Furthermore these raids always turnout beeing very amusing, it only encourage me more.
Likes: Deep-friend luries, BBQ'ed firbies and roasted fish-people. Anything that involves either alcohol, females or bloodshed.
Likes more: The bigger hammers the better! Killing stealthers in 3 hits.
Dislikes: Anyone claiming that trolls are an inferior race. Anyone that disagrees with me. Anyone that has ever killed me.
Hates: People going afk, without telling! Mincers! Anything with magic range i can't block!
