Dragon raid idea

We all know that albs can wtfpwn their dragon with hordes of theurg pets, can mids to the same with hordes of bd pets?

theurg pets are higher level, (43 at 50 I think), so it probably wouldn't work... nerf albs for having an easy dragon

i will probelly try organise a 24ppl raid on dragon to.

I've often wondered what a shield spec warrior with the new realm castable damage shield from a full summoning SM as main attacker on dragon would be like. Shammy for end regen of course and warrior only taunts if it looks like he'll lose agro.

2 groups with this as core setup so one can rush in when dragon nukes the first group.

Rez illness won't affect the damage shield and it can't be resisted as far as I'm aware.

Focus killing epic mobs is boring. (remebers a 2 hours fight with the grandsummoner and shivers)

And I doubt that the poor little pet can take many hits from the Miss before the healers have to empty thier manapolls.

How ever there was a thread on VN not so long ago about how some hibs killed the old geezer of a dragon with just 3 groups. Maybe you could go and dig that one up

Lowest mid dragon has been killed by, is 14 in the US. You don't need pets much, really easy to hit the dragon.

If I remember it right, Lady Gjal is vulnerable to thrust weapons, so a load of H2H Savages with Thrust weapons might have a chance.

Mebbe something like 5 Savages 1 Aug/Mend Shamy/Healer and a bubble boy per group... and a couple of rezz bots.

Main group replace 2 savages with Warriors for defence... might work.

Practically impossible to focus shield a dragon, you'll be thrown, they ignore pets when using special abilities. If you go too far away, you'll be AOE'd, if you stay too close you'll be PBAOE'd. More efficient to melee it I guess.

I've heard that casting spells near the dragon causes it to AE nuke. Is this also true of pulsing effects, such as damage add, PBT, heal song?

He glares when casting out of his melee range usually and AOE's.

He's organizing the raid... and ready to leg it once he got the loot.

Wouldn't use 3 shield tanks really, 2 is enough, then pile up high on savages. The most damaging class is a hunter with volley/RF.

6 top rezzes, endurance per group, best mana crack, 6s PBT for MT group, pbt for other groups if you feel it's needed is all thats needed. Then pile up on determination tanks, h2h savages, 2h savages, warriors using 2h perhaps. Throw in some hunters also possibly.

Edit: Damage adder/haste ;o

I have already designed a 3 group combo for this and it doesnt leave any room for non determination tanks sadly.

Hybrids and rogues got no business on a 2-3 group dragon raid, simply cos they wont live long enuff, will require too many rezzes and that will mean healers will get too muich damn aggro.

BTW would the confuse/amnesia spell ever land on the dragon?

Best tanks for Dragon are simple equal numbers of Savages and Warriors. 1 Warrior guarding each Savage and both protecting a designated mend healer.

6 savages
3 Shaman
5 Mend Healers
1 Pac Healer
1 Supp RM
2 Dark/Supp RM's

Easy to design the groups
