ie., get a level for a level. When this is brought in will it mean that, given that Hibernia has the lowest population on Prywden (I think), Hibs on this server will be able to level much faster than Albs and Mids?

The get a level fora level will be put into place in all three realms. The underpopulated realm bonus includes things like cheaper realm defense costs (upgrades etc) increased XP money RP bounty points etc.
These all come into effect in 1.72

At the moment the underpopulated realm bonuses are all frontier based.

All the pertinent details can be found at the Canelotherald webby in the patch notes for 1,70 1.71 and 1.72

imo to balance realms let sum1 with for example a lvl 50 friar fully toa'd and rr5. let them delete that char (1-2max or full 8 per account) and then imidiatly re-roll on low population server. and GIVE them a lvl50 . rr5 and epic armor and all JEWELRY they had pre-delete.

so all they have to do pve wise is TOA

IMO that would solve the realm imbalance for sure..

im sure there are people on EVERY server (lots of them) that WOULD re-roll other realm if they started at 50 . kept there RR and had decent armor (ie: epic . and rings etc etc)

the free level comes with patch 1.71

Dark Age of Camelot
Version 1.71 Release Notes
August 24, 2004

===================================

This version encapsulates many new changes and features geared towards addressing issues with the game's leveling system, population balance and Realm vs. Realm combat, and the grouping system. The following items are just some of the many changes you will find detailed in this patch. You will find specifics on these items under the NEW THINGS AND BUG FIXES section, later in this patch note.

The Enhanced Leveling System

Now that Camelot is nearly three years old, the bulk of our players are above level 35. Because of this it is becoming more challenging for casual gamers and low-level players to find groups, which can result in long leveling times and frustration. As such, we have implemented changes to the leveling system that will help all players level faster, no matter what server they play on. These changes are intended to be especially helpful to casual gamers and low-level players, allowing them to gain levels faster and more steadily.

Now, when players attain a level on their character through normal leveling methods during a seven day period, the character will gain a free level's worth of experience and coin appropriate to each level, up to level 47 (You can find a Q&A with sample scenarios located at http://www.camelotherald.com/more/1651.shtml ). On underpopulated realms, the time required to gain a level may be decreased to as little as two days.
1.71 patch notes as its the next patch currently in testing at the moment that we will get

TBH that wont be good enough, it wont solve the underpopulation problem on the underpopulated servers (hib/pryd) or any other... they have to do better.

ffs they had /30 command up for months, and it didnt solve shit, only thing that happend was that some retarded germans created like 50 animists and zerged/crashed the server from time to time...

then they removed the /30

and its still underpopulated (at least they tried)

Surely you don't count epic armour anywhere near 'decent armor'?

That said, I fully agree with the principle. Only, for it to work, Mythic needs to develope a system where you can convert all characters on an account on a specific server to another realm.

Say, make a matrix where each class is classified against one or two other classes in each realm. All ToA items are kept, All SC'd stuff returned as gold at a reasonable exchange rate. Quest items are removed (quests can be redone). ML level is kept, and char can pick the path upon conversion. Crafts kept, etc, etc.

Examples on class conversions could be: Healer for choise of cleric or sorcerer. Mercenary for choise of Berserker or Savage. Druid for choise of Healer or Shaman... and so on.

Why all that?
Well, noone is really going to give up their grinded list of characters for something less. Everyone wants more balanced realm populations, but noone can fairly be expected to give up all they have worked for so far just to start over.

The few people that do change over currently, are usually people that not so long after leaves the game anyways.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Had a similar idea myself, and i think its the only true way to fix it. Fact is tho, its just too hard to implement. Mythic would rather come up with some bone, half-answer, easy to implement "solutions". Another bone way would be to force realms for new players Oo which is :puke: (altho, that wouldnt make any difference for us, because he have no new players xD)
