Double Channel Swim

Howdy, Thought I'd advertise this site, its someone I know who's 50 years old and going to attempt the world record for a double swim of the english channel in aid of St Catherine's Hospice in memory of his father who died from cancer and recieved care from the Hospice.

The Hospice gives care to those who have terminal cancers offering physical, emotional, spiritual and social care to patients by providing the highest quality of specialist medical and nursing care.

Sounds good, but i'm pretty sure some woman has swam it 3 times (double) thus being the record? Or am i completely mistake?

He's off, Im having to do a very untech way of having to update the progress map image... yawn...

Look like he's wobbling about a bit, which part of France is he heading for? I'd be heading for the sticky outie bit.

Only criticising because I can't swim very far and I failed geography.

He's aiming Cap Gris Nez, got several records of people who have swam the channel, all wobble as the channel as funny water directions, one half goes one way and the other half the opposite way!

I wouldn't be able to or really want to do it, as i'd probably pass out after 10 minutes.

What's the target time? Given he managed to do it one way in 15 hours, he's going to be spending more than 30 hours swimming?

yeah 30 hours plus, 3 minute break on french soil... thats a long time to be swimming...
