Doom, Doom 2, etc for free?

You can get Doom2 free, avec 3 or 4 TCP/IP and/or GL enabled clients.

I used to love some of those custom WAD files. Might have to see if I can find some of those I used to play and try em out again on the 3d enabled ports

If I dig out my real old HD I might even be able to recover all the Wolfestein levels I made years ago

I liked the Doom->Wolfenstein conversion too

Those Wolf3d ----> Doom conversions were the secret levels in Doom 2 as far as i know.

In regards to getting em free, I paid for em first time round. Still got the disks here. Still play em and all.

There was a whole Wolf-style mission as a Doom WAD. Was quite fun.

Incidentally, my Wolfenstein mission had heads on spikes and pentangles drawn in blood as wall textures etc... (hey I was young and thought it was cool) 2 months after I did it iD released Doom. I should sue those cribbing bastards for intellectual theft !

Obviously it won't get a German release but I don't think most countries will bother much.

Why can't the germans shoot nazi's too? all the nazi reading material is banned incase it uprises again, surely pretending to kill them would be productive, its not as if they're proud to have been nazi's is it?

Not true about Nazi stuff banned, since there was a cartoon in a german magazine recently joking about Hitler. So it looks like they are finally realising that who cares what happenned so long ago they were not responsible for it and should not be responsible for it.

Yes, but they are pretty touchy about violent games anyway (at least their censors are) so lots of Nazi imagery is probably gonna just tip them into pressing the ban button.
