Dogfighting 1 on 1

I've been having a tthink about the rules of this. So far I've come up with best of 11 (unless this is too high?) possibly a time limit per 'duel' maybe 2/3 minutes to make sure that one person doesn't just hide. Both pilots spawn near aircraft, and when both are sitting in their choice the admin shouts go, both take off and head into combat. Coral sea may well be the best map choice for this since both pilots can head off and fly straight towards each other. Ted said he might be able to find a small prize for the winner and it's not like you're lost anything even if you don't win?

So, who would be interested in taking part, and does anyone else have any suggestions as to how this is run?

Sounds great, but if its a straight knockout compo then maybe just to the best of 3-5, that way you can get more duels in an evening and do it over a couple of days, so it dosent drag on.

It also might be an idea to have some sort of seeding. I wouldn't even give you bets on me vs elh, scoobs, cdr or at least half a dozen others.

Obviously there'd have to be some honesty involved, but there you go.

If you do seeding you could also have different levels so that flyers like me can join --- ie the "oo isnt it pretty up h..." [BOOM]

If you get this going I may as well have a go *.

Agreed on Coral Sea for it, the Zero and Corsair are fairly evenly matched, unlike, say, spitfire vs messerschmit (at least on mouse the latter is WAY crappy compared to the spitfire).

Get full spec'ing enable on the server for a couple of people to spec the current players to ensure no cheating (taking off before told etc)...
