Don't get me wrong, I luved Half-Life, but i can't help but think a direct sequel would be pants! It wouldn't be able to live up to the name no matter what.

A totally new game from Valve would be better don't ya think?

I can't see what TF2 can really come up with now! There are loads of mods out there that already do what TF2 said it would do.

I think Valve should come up with a totally new game, i did hear a rumour that for the sequel to HL, they were asking psychologists on what makes someone fall in love. What the f*ck can that mean! :)

Personally I think they are too scared to birng anything new out. :)

Nomatter what it is it will no doubt get slated, as not being as good as their previous work.

TF2 seems to have disappeared, with most of the stuff they said would be in it being released in HL patches.

HL 2 would be good and sell well, so long as they kept the story and gfx up to scratch, but unless they come up with something revolutionary they will not reach previous heights again.

You can tell the Valve peeps are bored, with all the hl additions, etc, like DMC....

It would be silly not to do a HL2 in all truths, main point being that it sold well (and still is - with help from mods). Whether anyone has the patience to wait and see (as what was said with tf2) is a different matter.

How long has tf2 been in dev now then?

Remove the word "Half-life" from your statement for greater accuracy

Youngest one was up from 1 - 4. Oldest one was up from 4:30 to 6:30.

Really old one (ME) was up from yesterday 5:30am to NOW!!!!!

Its amazing how CRANKY you can get without sleep.

erm, well anyway, moving back 2 the subject :)

I suppose from a business point of view, i would be shrewd to release HL2 but to be honest I think the fact that any game from Valve would be hugly hyped just because it is Valve. Their reputation is big enough. So I still think they could move away from HL without much financial loss. I'm surprised though that they can still run, I mean all these mods are flying about and I would imagine Valve don't get much, if any at all, money from them. They surely can't be running of sales of HL still! I think its envitable that they will do something, maybe just release a mod developement kit one more advanced than anything out there, one that is easy 2 use even for simpletons like me! :) I would love to get involved in editing, but it seems that you need a lot of knowhow, which i just don't have! I would imagine their are a lot of people thinking the same, and would be interested in something like this!
