Does Albion need more guilds?

Am I the only one that thinks we need more Guilds? My impression is that it is only very seldom are all our Towers and Keeps are claimed. The constant dilemma we face as a Guild is having to release a Tower in our own Frontier if we want to claim something in enemy territory. We always try to have something claimed. I hope this is not a sign of a dwindling population.

Anyway, anyone agree we need more Guilds? and if so, how could we encourage their formation? Or maybe there is another solution, like Mythic/GOA allowing Guilds to claim more than one tower/keep?

(Hope this was not the subject of a thread I missed - if so apologies for the revisit)

Dont think there is a great need for new guilds imo, remember that the new guild will need a lot of bounty points to hold on to a keep in its own frontier. So they would have to be active in RvR and with a small guild it will be hard to keep that up, and get enough RPS.

50 bp/hour for lvl 9 tower is not that much though. And if they only claim when we're on the offensive and let old guilds claim back home, should be ok?

Claiming everything is often a problem.

Dont forget that there are plenty of small guilds that just dont RvR at all out there so claiming a tower aint really a concern.

i mainly think its down to the small guilds thinking they carnt or not being able to join the bigger aillances that is the problem, if there is /as spam on rvr stuff they are more aware on whats goin on and tagging along for the fun. so when a keep is reclaimed they dont know if they can claim it or be told by a large guild thats our tower etc etc so they keep quiet.

i dont think we need more guilds, but we need more guilds who RVR and can claim some tower in alb land so its harder for mids/hibs to get our teleport destroyed

but I know WE (hand of chaos) upgrade our tower to lvl 6 and its only cost 20 BP

Just allow guilds to be able to claim a tower and a keep. Their are enough "big guilds" on all sides to be able to do this.

More people in guilds who can claim is a better idea than more guilds..Pryd really doesn't have the population to support many more guilds right now in fact the opposite is occuring with maany guilds imploding from lack of members

Albion needs more active RvR guilds thats all, If the most overpopulated realm (if you look at the statistics) can't even claim all their towers and keeps in their own realm there is something seriously wrong.

afaik most of the guilds are running out of BPs to hold keeps at a decent level. Alb has never had many RvR guilds anyway, so it's not like there's a surplus of BPs going around.

It was never easy when the populations were larger although it was 'doable'. People temporarily joining a guild so that a keep could be claimed was common as well.

Your statement about the population no longer being able to support many more guilds sums it uo though. You only need to look at the number of realm points earned in the last few months for example. Not a patch on what they used to be. More people in a guild also helped to minimise the expenditure as well - you were more likely to have people who logged in early / logged late / in different time zones etc. making it possible to have a near 24 hour presence.

Catacombs could - from an RvR point of view - be very bad for both guilds, RvR / realm points, and getting together groups. I feel sre that some will 'retire' though to get their warlock or whatever to 50 asap.

Of course this weekends event may influence the future significantly. On average server numbers across multiple games dropped 40-45% in the US. Pryd could become a quiet place.

we recently staryed a small grp in excal playing mids for a bit of fun
within the spece of a few hours we had all been approached by high lv charecters, given equipment offfered advice and help and the oppertunity to join a guild if we stayed. It seems they may have the same problem but are activly working to solve it.

How many times have i seen newbies turned away from guilds cos they are low lv ect ( perphaps we need to encourage our new players abit ) :flame:

That's always been a problem and will never change.

I would of in all my times playing albion only consider about 5% or so the server rvr'ers when albion had been most active in rvr as it could of been.Shame really because pvp is the end game but prydwen has always lacked people for that in albion more than mid/hib on a prolific amount.
