Dodgy?

Got a letter this morning telling me that I hadn't paid my Gas bill.

The strange thing was that it wasn't an official Gas company letter, it was one of those new things where you can get Royal Mail to send a letter that you enter electronically.

The other strange thing, I have no gas in my place!

The number to call was an 0870 number (Mobile).

This sound dodgy to anyone else? Scam?

Not sure. I'm going to call British Gas and ask them if I do owe. If not then I'll report it to the police.

Sounds like someone going through bin bags to me.

If it was in a yellow envolope with like 'Telemail' or something on it, its cosha. I used to get those, but if you have no gas thats a bit odd.

I think he should eat the letter, then wrap himself in chains and throw himself off a cross-channel ferry.

Got a notice of debt collection this morning for the same amount as the letter I got last week.

I guess it wasn't a scam. Suppose I better pay the bill now

I've had a few of those, for former occupants of my house. I phone them up, politely ask them to feck off, and they stop sending them.

Ah, but I had Gas in my old place and this bill is dated around the time I moved. I think I must have just misplaced the bill while moving and they finally tracked me down
