Ive said this before and Ill say it again now, Id be happy to admin for DoD, and whilst I wouldnt play it every day I'd at least have a rough idea what was going on. I dont know who to talk to though, or who to ask, so it'll prolly just carry on as usual ...

To be a DoD admin you would ask ME, but i do not need any admins at this time and my team of DoD admins are doing fine atm.

Ohh and about the updates for servers I DO NOT install them, the server guys do it. I do not have access to them in that way, I have to e-mail them to change settings. So make sure you get stuff right please i do not take well to abuse !!!

I suppose you were too busy playing DoD on the 3.0 servers for 2 or 3 days With you "team of admins".
So as someone responsible for BW DoD you wernt aware of the 3.1 update ?
Or you were aware but couldnt do anything about it because of the "server guys"? You were desparately e-mailing them were you?
Look i dont want to argue with you m8, but coming on here like this trying to convince us that all is well with BW DoD is frankly a bit silly. It took me over a month of posting to get the 12 man limit raised to 16 man.
It took me another month previously to get an extra server.
Where were you during all this ? Or your team of admins ?
These things were glaringly obvious faults in the BW servers, yet you didnt seem to do anything about it. I emailed you, or whoever was on the webby as the liason at the time, but he/she/you didnt reply.
What do you want us to think?

well heres my last word on the subject if u want any updates sorted mail me or my admins and the dod servers where updated after becuse unlike u not all people that playdod had the new patch, less then 24 hours after they where out the servers where updated . And if you have any probs with the servers why play on them. If u want any changes on the servers u can mail me i will look at them then get bact to you with in 24 hours after i have mailed the server guys !!!! ...

throdgrain wats your problem mate. The servers are being sort as fast as the BW staff can. Its not like your going to died if the barry servers are down for a bit. As a admin i get email ask to update the servers but we have to see if there ok with all the ppl tht play on there. So plz email us and we will sort it as fast as the BW staff get the emails and read them.

The fact is you and your DOD admins probably don't even play on Barrysworld, which is why Throdgrain's pissed off. Understandably too, arguing with the illiterate isn't fun.

Admins/Liasons, try not to make poor excuses for a slow update to the latest version of DoD, under no circumstances should it take longer than 24 hours. Neither should any one have to email you or BW staff regarding updating DoD to the latest version, 3.1 in this case.

I, and many others, accept its different on map rotations etc and people expect to wait.

All to common updates have taken rather longer than ideal on a number of mods.

I had to read your post three times to make absolutely any sense of it at all. The fact you're 7 years older than me and have the English grammatical capabilities of a maimed mammal is beyond me, absolutely. The point in hand is that the DOD admins are evidently too slow, and need to get their act together or be replaced. Preferably by people who use these forums, play on BW regularly and are nice people. I.e. Summo and Throddy.

well i hate to tell the 16 year old BOY that i am 23 years old, I play on the DoD servers every day and i idle in the irc room.
I also play on other barrysworld mod`s like CS, SI.

I look at my mail about four times aday and i have a admin in the dod servers all the time. But as most people know we dont always play under are admin name this is to stop people from knowing we are there, due to the fact that people who cheat stop when they know the admin sees them. This resulting in no ban of the cheater.

If u have a problem with the servers them talk to the right people not spam a thread about updates that where being done, The updates where in your benfit.

I know exactly where Throd, Embattle and Summo are coming from completely. It is your responsibility (partially) to update the servers quickly and efficiently. It is not your responsibility to tell people to 'piss off' if they don't like how long it takes you, or anyone else, to get things done.

Did you tell anyone at BW that the new patch had come out? Did you nag them about it? Or did you just let them take 24 hours or so to do it.

The fact is its not up to the users of the servers to let you guys know when there is a update is it ? I would have thought that would be the least you can do.
If its really not your responsibility to sort such issues, then frankly I am speaking to the wrong people. At the very least , you guys, as our reprentatives should be shouting and yelling about the 2 or 3 day wait for an upgrade to 3.1. I cannot imagine this happening in CS can you ? And you shouldnt be defensive about it either, which is really the jist of your posts, if its not your responsibility then its not your fault .
Lets call an end to this arguing , its getting us no where. Perhaps we could work together to improve the BW Dod servers.

Well the thing is see there is not just the dod servers the server guys have more then just dod servers to sort like : CS, SI, FLF, Q3 and all mods, JK2 menny more. I cant expect for me to say jump then they do it that sec can i.


I do my part i admin and sort the map rota out and gun classes and keep an eye on my admin making sure they dont abuse there place...
