Important: Do NOT open any recent 'Microsoft' security email

Hi guys

If anybody has received an email purporting to be from Microsoft via their BarrysWorld, or any other, account DO NOT EXECUTE THE ATTACHED FILE.

Although the email looks genuine, analysing the details of where it came from shows it to be fraud. Also, the fact you may have received it multiple times is also strange. And finally, Microsoft simply do not distribute security patches like this.

It's okay to preview the email and read its contents (don't take much notice of what it says) but DO NOT EXECUTE THE ATTACHED FILE.

If you want the latest patches, either visit WindowsUpdate or check the official Microsoft site for details.

Kind Regards

I've had 4 of these, they do look genuine, but I smelled a rat when I saw the attachment.

I've only had one so far, fortunately good Old Norton picked up the attachment and immediately deleted it. Then I was free to look at the quite convincing e-mail.

Today I have only had 5 or 6!

Yesterday and previous days I was getting 30-40 emails a day .. either the fake MS patch email or the fake "could not send mail" email... incredibly annoying to have to trawl thru

People that irresponsibly click attachments, dont have AV software and are oblivious of these things annoy me far more than the guy that wrote this bit of maliscous code.
