Yeah well... I got unexpected visitors last night, people that have vacations etc. So we got drunk, and some of us went swimming.....

Guess who fucking lost his glasses?

So... do they float? Or is there any point in going back to check for them? Fucking hell, I had plans this weekend, and getting new ones take at least a week.

Mildly pissed.

P.S. I see fuck all without them, so sorry for any typos etc.

Glasses do not float.
Glasses do not take a week to get. Most opticians offer a service that takes only a few hours. Tescos and many other stores have off the shelf glasses for a tenner or less.

Well, as previously stated, I'm quite blind. Blind as a bat. As for pissed.... yes. :D

Anyway, went to Mr. Glasses guy and he gave me some contacts for the time being. Aint 100% vision, but still.

And... stupid question? Glasses cost a great deal, so it'd been nice if they didnt float so I could get them back. Fell into the water with my clothes on when I went looking for them earlier. Yay. Ho hum, it'll be fine.

What I am saying is - do you ask for an answer to every question you may have in real life on a forum?

Would you ask if wood burns, or if water makes you wet?

Common sense = none.

I have some questions of my own:

1) I'm a wee bit thirsty. Should I have a cup of tea now?
2) Is it ever a good idea to mix drunkeness with swimming?
3) Do glasses rust?

Haha, I dont mind nastiness. Had it been a wee bit later I wouldnt have made this thread anyhow. Had just gotten up tho, and still a wee drunk etc... And glasses gone missing.

And whats wrong with asking everyday things on here anyway?

As for cat wee, I cant offer any ideas. :(

Edit: It was at... eum... dunno what the word for it is... It's just like a stream that flows trough my town. It's like 50m across or something. There's stuff in there that makes any normal person stay away from swimming in it anyhow. Bikes and bums etc.

1) No, have coffee you woose. Tea is for old ladies.
2) It is if you do it right. (Only if skinny-dippin' females are involved.)
3) The iron ones do. (the lens - not the frames) ;)

Do you have a metal detector?

I lost a pair in derwent water (near keswick), they definately didnt float. Never roll a canoe while wearing glasses and nothing to hold them on, its not clever!

Dunno why you have to wait a week though, you can get new glasses in around an hour at most places.

Depending on your visibility, they may not hold the type of lens for your glasses (i.e. the x percent of people who are fecking half blind.

I need to wait almost a week for new glasses.

Some people come up with the biggest load of bullshit...

And yes glasses can certainly take a week or even longer...all depends on your lens type and what their machines can do on site.

I know someone who was jumping up and down outside the glass window, these windows go from floor to ceiling and theres only one wall...hard to descrbie, anyway she was trying to get to her mum who was inside this glasses shop. Eventually she realised it wasnt an automatic door and used the handle on the door a few panes of glass down.

I think that made no sense

I told you you'd go blind. Leave it alone.
