i really donno if they stink,i made one too just to try it out,and right now i think they kick butt. But that maybe change later on..
On the spec part u should put 50 i Left Axe and 50 in another weapon of your choice, and the last in parry that would be around 28 in parry

My Zerker is now lvl 36 and has 36 Axe and 36 Left Axe.

Axe increases your skill Left Axe increases your damage.

As RvR goes, I think they are fun, nothing better then starting a dual and Bearing up half way through.

Also, for grouping, more that once the Bear has saved my Butt and the group too :D

If you're the guy that had a visit from my niece Dagmar yesterday night , i think you know what i think about zerks.

ZERKS SUCK! bigtime. Im trying to tell every low level zerk this and get them to roll another char before it's too late. I really wish people told me earlier on what the future was bringing.

True, up to lvl 35 or so you can solo yellows and even oranges rather safely but after that, when RvR with the "big guys" starts you'll just be a cow where other people spend mana on to mez/nuke and in close combat you have armor the strenght of a wet paper bag and damage isnt all that what you read on official mythic sites. In later patches the only style you are going to use (especially when you turn into a dancing bear) -doublefrost- is getting tuned down to ridiculous damage but ages later (1.51) you do get throwing axes to make up for that.

You get "owned" by every caster class since they'll nuke you to death before you can say blueberry pie, most "heavy tanks" since they do more damage then you can take (especially crush ones) , most healer-type classes if played correctly , and archer classes.

I must admit that totally ravaging a party of bluecons or lower gives quite a kick and twoshotting isnt too rare , but it doesnt level with getting killed by every orange con and most yellow ones

In the end it's your choice and dont come whine you levelled a gimp

i'm playing my zerk to 50 now just too have a 50 char but that's about it.i don't advice anyone too make a zerk anymore.or maybe just a lowlevel for the bg's.

Ok ive decided to go with my zerker :)

Should i spec in dual axes or should i go hammer and left axe??
hammer has good bonuses??

I went for full hammer and parry, and its alot easier to level.

But then you get the "parry doesnt work against styles" in RvR so kind of leaves you open a bit.

But with a two handed hammer the damage comes rolling in, often oranges mobs go down in 3 hits.

Parry works against styles in RvR, the rumour that it does not is a urban legend.

@ kazzam : not going for left axe brings you down to a gimped warrior imo but hell it's your gimp :)

@sirckiller axe+laxe gives you the bonus of main hand weaponry with +laxe whereas these are non existant in hammershape.

hammer+laxe gives you hammer styles which imo are better then axe ones imo , crush damage in main hand , which should get you a tad more damage against studded/plate and you can spam provoke tons of times when you're out of end from spamming doublefrost.

the critdamage scales with your the damage you do so you'll have a huge but slowish crit when using 2h and 2 less impressive crits when dual wielding (do not forget each weapon has its damage halved)

@ kalgarn : welcome to the club <pins a badge stating "ubergimp" on his chest>

Im also sirus who recruited you :)

You could always go for a Shadowblade and spec in full Left axe and axe if you wanted a different beserker type, thats what sirus is going to be, and he was taking aggro yesterday from you two :)

zerks dont stink, they own any other tank in this game(except maybe a hero)
they dont do much dmg in 1 swing, but they swing faster then any other class in this game

althoe the left hand axe will be nerfed in a future patch

Well I like my Zerker :D

As games go I love the game, and the Bear has only added to the role play for me :p

If you want a tank with range damage do a Thane.
If you want to be invited to every group do a healer.
If you want to have fun, best char or not ... do a Giant Gerbil.

It's all a case of choice and it's a game, have fun

:) i need to ask what pure tank is not own from casters?
learn ROLE in field, waite so long is melee time, then go and slash opponent.
bers is not solo playing char, its hard even play solo in pve.

those copple time i have been in raids and bigger fights, i waite close caster, try safe them from mobs what send against them, when is time for melee, go it and swing both axes.
remember! vendo mode destroy all your defense, all!

if known this earlier, maybe choose hammer/laxe, but now going full axe.
later, around 35 and up, its hard to find good axes!

at this moment bers is best melee, pure melee! but dont go solo, allways in groups to field, this mean pvp.

if want solo, choose skald.
if have good friends, and there is nice mix races, included hide and speed, missing tank, choose bers.

hmm

well i myself have a lvl 45 ubergimp too, and as klavrynd i tell people who ask me about starting zerks to start a skald or something else that will do any good.

i really regret leveling my zerk up to 45 since i dont find him fun anymore.

i have now 45 axe 45 laxe 23 parry and with items i have 56 axe 49 laxe and 34 parry but i still suck against almost any tank and most casters (if they nuke my hairy ass) and ive had my ass spanked by stealthers and healers too.

so i cant really advice anyone to start a zerk, do a laxe speced shadowblade instead, u will be much better off and u can see the stealthers before they see u hopefully..

It has been very interesting reading peoples views of Zerkers. IMHO Zerkers are generally a bit misunderstood in the game and many people refer to them as Tanks which because of their melee abilities is partially valid but really they are best employed in PvE as a secondary tank, mainly due to their poor armour capability.

For me Warrior is the main tank class in the game due to the effectiveness of their shield usage and their heavier armour and higher HP's. To get the most out of a Zerker use him as a secondary tank within a group. Where a Zerker shines is his ability to do consistent damage and on this score they are very good. One of the best ways is also to use the Zerker to draw aggro off you casters when grouped as the Taunt styles are very effective but would suggest letting the main tank draw the aggro from a mob unless they are getting low on health and then take it from them. As for soloing it is very difficult but not impossible if you go after the right mobs and use the aggro range to draw them mob to you (this will take quite a bit of practice).

If you are after a character that will gain you big points in RvR do not go for a Zerker. They should be utilized mainly to protect your own casters and in a long battle (if you can find one) when all other tanks are getting thin on the ground go for the opposing casters. If you can get the right group balance they can be boosted by using Skalds speed and damage songs, Runie damage spells, Shaman damage add buffs and or course the mandatory healer.

I have used my Zerker quite effectively a number of times in RvR by being a bit more sneaky. On a few occasions when things seem to be a bit of a stalemate I have flanked the opposition carefully and attacked form the back. Whilst this realistically means certain death you can usually take a few of the casters out quickly and cause quite a bit of havoc in the oppostitions back lines.

I stopped playing my Zerker when I got to the mid 30's due to boredom but after quite a bit of experimentation I am really enjoying playing him again and very quickly have got him to lvl 41. I am still enjoying him but its a pity that our one really good Left Axe style Doublefrost gets nerfed in a later patch. Lets just hope that Mythic can come up with something to put the shine back with Zerkers because they have so much potential.

No classes stink ok if u say any do then u do yourself. All classes r good and it just depends what things u like makes u decide your class and at the end of the day the game is fun no matter what.:D

Level a zerk or bm to 40+ , do some rvr and then we'll talk again.

Most of us play the game for RvR and not for ever-boring killing npc monsters. If you spend ages levelling a class that is said to have immense melee powers, and you see all you're going to ever use it on is the door of a keep that doesnt hit back it's a bit of a dissapointment.

rvr = ranged vs assasins with a twist of cc.
