Dnf Doomed

Apparently Duke Nukem Forever is now going to be a Doom 3 powered game. If you're like me and played the Duke 3D game to death and have been following the development of this over the YEARS, you can probably understand how hillarious this sounds. A game that started out as a Duke Nukem engine moved to Quake 2 engine then switched to the Unreal engine and now....Doom 3 . wWell at the moment it all sounds a bit of the same old same old.

Anyway , guess what, its a done when its done title....

Having finished Doom 3 and moved onto multiplayer I cant help feel saddened by the loss of really fast gameplay over sumptuous graphics. I think I would have probably bought DNF on the original engine. Duke 1.6.

just saw this myself. I do wonder one of two things. Either the guy on the other end of the conversation didn't realise he said Doom 3 and meant to say Unreal. Or they are no where near finishing on Unreal and this new engine change gives them a plausible reason for more delay.

Oh well, I doubt it really matters. Unless it is the greatest FPS ever made in the history of mankind then I doubt this will even register on my games buying radar.

YEah it does make you wonder, still Max Payne kinda just suddenly appeared and that was one hell of a good game, especially with the introduction of in-game bullet time.

I still hold out hope that this will be a cracker but the wait has been interminable.

Now another article saying its an in-house engine and that the confusion was that it is Doom 3 like.

Another interesting story fizzles out.
