It just takes forethought tbh, and a willingness to endure a lot of mess, hard work and sweat. Now I have to do the downstairs and upstairs landings, they're a right mess. But they can wait until next year...

Oh and I can't even begin to describe how horrible taking that ceiling down was. Trust me, if you ever need to do that job, pay someone else and go on holiday.

How to install an 8x4 sheet of plasterboard on your own
Or just use a plasterboard lift like a normal person. :)

I wanted to hire one of those, the price was astronomical. So I did things the Northern way ;)

I can mess around with changing lightbulbs/sockets, door knobs and locks etc - anything other than possibly lifting something around the house will prompt me to call someone in.

DIY might be rewarding, but I am one of the laziest people on this earth, so no.

Looks great old bean.

I'd like to stick my bike on the wall - really like your stands. But my 780mm salsa whammy won't let me ;)

The Cycloc (what I used) is just over a foot from the wall so you could either just turn the wheel slightly (plenty of room) or fix the hanger to a small wooden spacer a couple of inches thick. Easy enough to do.

I do like it - but it's 39cm to the centre of the bars - so the same out the other side just makes it a bit too big I think. I reckon I've space for my one bike above my futon in the downstairs room but tbh I use it so much it'd be hardly on the wall.

And I ain't hanging up the missus' ;)
