Display driver crashes :(

Hi all, earlier this evening I was happily playing away on Camelot when the game froze. So I pushed to restart button on my computer, but when it booted up, everything was a mess. There were colours all over the bios screen where there shouldn't be, the windows loading screen was distorted and when the computer reached the desktop I got the following message:

Display
---------------------------
The driver file that displays items correctly on you screen isn't working properly

To fix this you might need to install a new display driver. You can get these from...blah...blah...blah

Anyway, this has never happened before ><

I am using a PA Open 3000 32 mb plus graphics card, which is based on TNT2 M64. Unfortunately, the drivers for the card have never worked for my game so about 6 months ago I installed the NVidia Riva TNT2 Model 64 / Model 64 Pro drivers. Anyway, this has never presented me any problems.

I'm running on Windows ME and recently bought new RAM, taking it up to 512 mb about a week ago; this hasn't caused any problems so far.

Anyway, I did as the instructions said, and went to www.nvidia.com and downloaded the latest drivers and installed them, but when my computer boots up... same problem. Any ideas? :)

You get display issues at a Bios level?

Wow, not heard of that before..

At a wild guess, I'd say your Video card is fragged.

This may sound stupid, but before you throw away your old card, make sure it's seated properly in the Slot on your Motherboard.
Take it out and put it back in really carefully and make sure it's in straight and all the way.

Agreed, have you overclocked your Vid card?

Rah, you were right. My card was dead. Anyway, I have put an old 8mb one in till I get a new one. Thanks a lot guys, consider this problem solved :)
