Disolusion Anti-Cheat v2.2.1 beta plugin for Admin-mod

This is a plugin that will detect all versions of ogc including ogc6.1, it is only designed to detect ogc so you may require another anitcheat plugin like the excelent jedi-no-cheat or yensid anticheat plugins do detect other forms of cheats like xqz and hlh. This plugin will work along side jedi-no-cheat without any problems, it is actualy suhested that you also install jedi-no-cheat because this plugin requires the same version of adminmod as is distributed with jedi-no-cheat.

Thanks to the To him_selfe and the Adminmod guyz for his superb plugin..

Ive collected all the plugins needed for installing in zip format and placed up a link to forums were anticheat zip is availible in the file library

One server admin who has 3 CS servers caught over 300 players just yesterday...

If anyone has followed this plugin will know there was a problem with Lagg on servers running this Mod, but with the re-write on the code, the new v2.2.1 has solved this problem..

BW will not install this or any other anti-cheat software. Their method is to catch cheaters and get an admin to ban them. Go somewhere else.

That does not work well enough xwing64 is correct its the best way to catch cheats as nother needs to be done at client side

Because most of them are designed more at the level of a privately run server(ie of someone's UNI connection), rather than for a networ of servers as big as BW's.

it detects older versions of OGC and automaticaly kicks them?
why cant bw have something like this?

i know you will say, older versions are a waste of time, but anything is better than nought

A) It doesn't work..it's old news (new programme created, same day bypassed by cheaters)

B) Go and tell BW if you think they're wrong in not using anti-cheat software

Anyone who honestly beleaved at the time that PunkBuster was stopping cheats was guilty of stupidity. Yes it stopped some, maybe alot, but it didn't catch all, or even most.

My experiance is that players on BW are more mature than Jolt. You just have to look at this forum, people below 20 aren't in the majoritory.

ShockingAlberto, Jolt use an admin mod anti cheat plug in of some sort. Not PB.

Server side solutions like admin mod work well. It has the advantage of being easy to script for, and so there is a wide choice of anti cheat plugins and are released almost as fast as the cheats.

A combination of admins and some sort of detection prgram is perfect.

Thats because of prior instibilities in essentially all of the software tried, including adminmod

Yes new cheats do come out fast but soon after this yendis and jedi-no-cheat update and then cheaters are caught and banned.

On my clan's bw server I have seen a good few people that have been banned from jolt. So what gets me is that the cheaters move on and if bw have no protection then they may stay.

I still say that an irc style 'proxyscan' could be used to check for odd DLLs in the game dir.

Ok, so atm that might be difficult, but when BW go P2P, it might become more viable.

So you'd rather have a cheat detector & 20 constantly crashing servers then?

Didn't think so, BW are trying stuff out, I was helping Natrat test summin earlier, so all of you should get off ya high horse of "why not" and "fs its so easy", etc. cos yeah it might be, but a managed solution like what BW use, aint so easy.

/me has full faith that when Nat/Russ are ensuring that whatever goes onto the servers is viable & worthwile and not just a "ohh look this blocks just the one cheat" option.

Ah well. Fact of the matter is that there are so many accusations of 'cheat!' these days the public just want some sort of security blanket to hold on to. People wanting BW to provide anti-cheat software on their servers is merely just an outlet of frustration against peeps who cheat.

Yes, whilst it is true that there are admins, a lot of the people who play on the BW servers don't even know they exist. This isn't because it hasn't been publicised enough (it comes up on every forum thread - and at the beginning of every map in CS) but because the average Joe Pub can't be arsed to read their start-up screen in CS. Heh, sometimes they prolly can't even understand it when they might not even be able to speak English.

Guess you could say 'put more admins' on, but that isn't the point is it? At the end of the day a lot of the peeps on the servers just can't be bothered to go to IRC and get an admin to look at a suspected cheat.

Guess you could call it laziness, but I think most people just want an automatic response to get rid of cheats without having to go through the 'hassle' of finding an admin

Maybe if barrysworld explain this all in an offical way, not just a half ass'd reply from a fan boy devotee from time to time, people might underrstand in a better light.

It's all very well telling people where to go in the forums, because the fanboys know better, so why not explain it to all exactly what barrysworld plans are.

Are they planning to use 3rd party software, wait for offical support from seira, do nothing unless it fits?

I've installed adminmod+jedi+disolusion on BW CS servers 5-8 as a trial run.

There seems to still be a lag problem on servers running this combination though, and possibly they are crashing a bit more; if this is not remedied we will be removing it.
