There are plenty of people who would disagree with that article and would happily provide evidence upholding their claims.
Personally, I think from a resolution POV it will only be a matter of time before digital eclipses film without question.
However, for me it is still a matter of preference. They both have their uses and both have their advantages and disadvantages (I've not seen a digital camera produce the same 'feel' of Neopan 400 for example).
Every year my local zoo hosts a display of the winners of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. Full of stunning provocative and inspiring photos.
I always check, as it's always stated which camera was used, but there hasn't been a single digital image amongst them yet.
I guess there's very few photo journalists or sports photographers still using film, but there are still big areas of photography where it still reigns. It will change, but it may take a lot longer than some are predicting.
