We're not far away from the analogue switch off, and there has been some chat about what to do with the bandwidth.

What would you like to see?

BBC NEWS | Technology | Line up for spectrum gold rush

Personally, I really hope it'll open the door for high def TV, because it's all we've heard recently is "HD ready" and "720p" and "sky hd is a fucking rip off" etc - so I think some freeview HD content would be the best option. Personally, video calling over mobile doesn't really float my boat and neither does WiFi.

Thoughts and rantings on the subject?

Personally I'd love to get some freeview HD as I'd rather rub my bollocks on a cheese grater and dip them in vinegar than pay any money to Murdoch. That said, I voted for wifi because I think it's important to get broadband as highly available as possible to as many people as possible. 'sides - I download all my HD content anyway :)

HD for me. But of course they'll probably use it for video surveillance or something.

Where was the "use it for subliminal messaging" option?

WiFi - this country is so far behind in the internet stakes it's not even funny.

Well I'm looking at being around £6000 out of pocket if they don't manage to sort out the frequencies we use for radio microphones, which just happen to be in that bandwidth. So I'd rather they just left it the fuck alone tbh.

If you're self employed, it's very much about you you you. And if you're self employed in media and you're gonna be out of pocket by £6k, i'd maybe give a little bit of a fuck, wouldn't you?

I'd miss £6k personally.

Actually, it's because they like technology, unlike us. And Finland have the bigger suicide rates, afaik.

I'm perfectly chilled. Telling it like it is, £6k is a whack, but then again Tom sells his body to Trem to cover that deficit. Apparently.
