I imagine 650+ people querying a database in a continual stream would cause it to slow down a tad. just a tad though ;) in all honesty FH has been slower than thick shit all week, so it may well be something else.

in an aside, and I do not mean this in an anti-daoc manner, but I take it that everyone's tried to log back in to their play server the moment it became available to them? do they not realise it's not a very bright idea to charge into a server (of any kind) that's just been put online? chill, relax, watch some telly, phone a friend, take a couple hits from the old bong and log on in a couple of hours. I say this as a sysadmin, and I know what it's like to watch a server strain just because 5000 people can't curb their impatience and press refresh 50 times a minute.

They want to play DAoC. DAoC is broken. They can't play DAoC. DAoC is fixed. They want to play DAoC. They go play DAoC.

Do you honestly not expect them to flood into the servers? It's not as if they actually have anything else to do apart from come on here and moan about it not working, do they?
