Ok, i've heard good things about this modem! Anyone got one? what are they actually like? Is there a better one? I have also heard about the Zoom V.92, again anyone know how these perform?

This is the modem I used throughout my 56k days. I used to get called an lpb in the early days of isdn, as I was sometimes able to get sub 100 ping, under good conditions and an 0845 dialup with software compression. Personally, if I had to use a modem, I wouldn't use any other.

I know little about the zoom tbh, but I do know the diamondMM one was excellent for me.
Quite often www.scan.co.uk on their 'today only' page have these modems fairly cheap. I think they do internal pci HARDWARE versions now too.

Many Thanx, however i've purchased it now and its lowered my ping by 40-60 ms!!!

I was pinging to Jolt, through freeserve (anytime service, not local call) on a Q3 server at 92ms!!! QUALITY

Beats my old cheapy external from currys, lol.
