DF: what to buy with your seals when you want to salvage

I just know this has been asked before but I can't find the thread.

Has someone done some research on the most cost-effective purchase to make in Darkness Falls, for each type of seal, when you buy to recycle ?

Is hauberk the best buy for any kind of seal (i.e. emerald, diamond, fiery...etc...) ?

Is there a cost comparison table somewhere ?

Anyone tested how much wood the DF staffs salvage for? If its cheaper than buying the wood at the merchants?

for all seal types, you want to buy Great Swords, they have the highest value pr. seal (by a small margin)

Here are the ratios, of seals to salvage:

15:100, 16:106, 17:113, 18:120, 19:126 20:133, 21:139, 22:146


So, taking 1000 seals and using the 15:100 vs 22:146 you get -

45 (22)
66 (15)

6570 (22)
6600 (15)

14687.892 (22)
14754.96 (15)

Which means, buying items of 15:100 ratio makes you 67g 6s 8c
more than 22:146

Soooo... am I supposed to understand that I want to salvage items that cost 15 seals because the ratio to salvage is the best, whatever the item ?

Basically yes. As it's easier to buy stuff for 15 seals than 22. I used the 15 and 22 as most people used to buy the healer hauberk for 22 Seals, whereas you can now buy the axe or shield for 15 and get a little more cash out of it.
