Tom was very impressed with the Raedon 7500 and 8500.

Just read it. He makes some interesing points about the timing of the Det4 drivers and the AquaMark demo being pretty much GF3 specific.

I used to have one of them, sold it to a m8 for £30 and spend that and another £50 on a brand new GF2 MX,

Nice:) Should make the latest graphical showcase (dronez) run even smoother:)

The GF3 does very porly in Dronez with the new drivers - up to a 29% performance drop. Something to do with the layers being drawn backwards.

The article says:

The drivers will be released this week by NVIDIA and carry a version number of 20.xx

I'll be checking the NVIDIA site several times a day, sadly.

I'm gonna sit slap bang in the middle of this debate, by saying that I have a GeForce DDR type of card. It played all the current games, with relative ease, so why would I want to spend £400 on a GeForce 3, when it's full power won't be implemented into games for another 6 months, probably.

Oh, and for the record, there's nothing wrong with ATI cards, if thats what floats your boat.

I agree. My PC, which I bought 6 months ago (Duron 800, Radeon 32MB DDR) has no problem with any games at all, and while it's good, it's not top spec. However, I have never started playing a game, and thought "Damn, my PC can't run this"
Top range gfx cards and processers are for showing off really. They do run things in stupid resolutions, but for that price, I'll wait.
