I'm having doubts about spending realm skill points on determination.. I used to have determination a long long time ago but I changed it because I didn't like it. I did fine (imo) without ANY determination so I'd like to get some advice about how to spend my realm skill points and how determination really works, why it is that good like most ppl say.

Here's how I think about determination atm, please correct me if I'm wrong because I propably am:
If I get mezzed for 60 secs and I have det5(-28% duration). 60 sec - ~17sec = still 43 sec mezz.. Shouldn't the healer have demezzed me by then? Det5 costs 34 realm skill points.

I don't play rvr that much so I don't know everything. Pls respond with advice, replying "OMFG zerk w/o det??" won't help anyone :)

well casters will love to meet you without det5. its not just becouse of mezz but allso stun, where it gets really handy.

iirc is det5(-34%) + stoicism(-25%) + resists(cant remember how much it gives) but you can end at about -70% to cc (iirc).

you can live with det4 but have to count on a CM from a healer when messed. i like Det5 for the stun as im stuned for perhaps 3secs max out of a 9sec stun. Det5 comes in real handy when rooted as it cant be cured and can take you totally out of a fight without det4/5

det5 is best for grps, if you solo i would only get charge so they cant cc me as im running to them or purge3

so i wouldnt run out in a grp without det4/5

det 5 is arround ~55% (cant remeber the exact number, but all leves of det stack, so it actuly det1+2+3+4+5, and it stack with stocism (25%) so you running with arround 80% reduction, and that's after resists. in avarge you be mezzed/rooted arround ~5-10 sec, and stuns just activate stun timer.

so why is this usefull.......very simple, it keeps you in the game, and since zerks are charge/banelord and therefor main interuptor, you cant be allowed to stand still for ~20 sec (det 4), because then the fight is over if no interupts.

some may argue, that peaple should get charge, before det5..... but ml10 banelord with stocism should get det5 asap, just for the tendril spam. (that's changing next patch though)

Determination Det Passive (Cumulative) Reduces the duration of all crowd control spells by the listed percentage. Effect is cumulative at each level increase.

4% 4% 12% 17% 28% = 65 %
stocism = 25%
total = 90% reduction.

I wouldn't say purge3>det5 - purge3 is on a short cooldown, yet still it IS on a cooldown - det5 is passive, meaning it will work against all forms of mezz/stun (roots too? haven't played daoc for a while..). With det5, I rarely get stunned for more than 2 seconds ever.. mezz is over quite fast as well. The only reason I prefer purge3 over det5 is when encountering a melee class who either slams or uses stun styles, but personally, I evade most of that.

If your soloing purge 3 is much better..
In groups you deffo want det 5!!

Purge the mezz and you'll just get rooted otherwise.
