Desperate need of help.

I recently bought the retail game of Counter Strike, and I let a friend use it, he used my cd key!!! So I sold him mine and bought a new one but It doesn't ask for a cd key anymore!!! Is there a way to fix this? Am I screwed? I'm so mad....LOL Any help GREATLY appreciated.......

Reinstall or go to your Windows registry and delete the HL key from there.

Well....I looked in the registry but couldn't find where it would be. I looked under HKEY_LOACAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/SIERRAONLINE. Is this the right location?

and its over on the right under the entry 'Key'

just put your new key in here with out the '-' and thats it.

LOL, Yeah i was just going to post that here. I figured it out. I'll post this for future reference.

Goto Start then Run then type: regedit. Once inside it works just like Windows Explorer. Browse to:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\Half-Life\Settings]

For Retail Users:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\Counter-Strike\Settings]

Once here find [in the right pane] a field called: key. Double-click it or right-click and goto Modify. Now type in your new CD-Key without the dashes -OR- leave it blank. If you leave it blank the next time Half-Life loads you will be asked to input your CD-Key, do so.
