I have been asked alot recently if BW are going to be hosting a DC server. Well before i go and ask the server bods if that possible/practical i thought i would get ur reactions on here to the idea?

Go for it - and don't let me anywhere near a helo cos apart from making it spin like hell I don't seem to be able to get it to do anything. Still tis good fun spinning at 60 rpm firing off missiles It would be nice if it wasn't over my own base that this happened as for some strange reason it makes people nervous

Spent ages downloading it, but I dont like it as much as regular BF tbh .

Thing I found slightly annoying was the speed of the planes.

Yes I know F16s go faster than Mustangs, but I think putting them on the current maps was wrong. You can cover a lot of maps fairly quickly in a Spitfire, you take off and over the other side of the map before you have time to blink in an F16. I tried it when it was the first release, and not been back since, so they could have changed. Really need the bigger maps to enjoy it the best.

I know it's only an Alpha, and maps will be released, but I'll wait till then to play it again.

Yup, DC rocks muchly, although I miss the first alpha where you could fly planes backwards...

Apparently there will be harriers in the 0.3 release, which is due at some point in March, I believe. So you can fly backwards to your heart's content.

They still need to get some dedicated DC maps in there, though. And watching the bots try and fly the helicopter is a good laugh.

Right, I'm talking to nat at the moment about seeing if this is feasible, probably replacing one of the R2R servers.

Fingers crossed we can get it up by the weekend.

Server 04 has been changed to Desert Combat, its not a FF server and it has been set to 2 rounds per map with a 20 min time limit on each round.

Yeah nat's got a test server up too which I've just been trying. It's a really good mod but it needs some huge maps otherwise airpower just wipes everything out. I know it's accurate but the A10 has way too much firepower. If you don't happen to be in it then there's not a whole hell of a lot you can do - except die

heres the reason why the A10 is too powerful..its main gun minus the aeroplane...

.. the lengths some boy racers will go to, to tart up a crap car.


I think .3 will be a little more balanced
