My demos keep kicking me out & back onto the main menu of Quake, does anyone know why?

it keeps kicking me out when I even use geekplay, I know it's a fault but I can't find it anywhere, anyone know?

What point release are you patched too, and what is the extension of the demo you're trying to play ? .dm_48 or .dm_66 ?? or is it lower than 48 ?? ...

I use version 1.27 & extension of the demos I use is dm_48
