Demo playback problems

Is it just me or do others have problems recording demos?

The first map demo always works fine but the second one always screws up. I have tried a couple of methods to try getting the 2nd demo working

- letting the recording run-on from the 1st map to the 2nd map
- stopping the first demo at the end of the 1st map and recording a new one when 2nd map is underway.

Do I really have to quit TFC and rejoin just to get the 2nd demo to record properly or is there some patch out there that fixes this problem?

yup I get that too. The easiest way around it is - when you connect to the second map, drop the console and type 'retry' (minus commas)...and that's it...you will reconnect to the server and your demo will work fine. I don't know of any kind of patch fix for this but I do know that loads have this problem. Also some of those demos may work with the 'timedemo' command rather than the 'playdemo' one

Ahh I forgot about the old 'timedemo' command and 'retry' seems an acceptable way of getting the bugger working.
