I posted the following on WHA, but in case it just gets lost in the morass there...
It would be very useful if each rank within a guild had an option against it that allowed you to set a default alliance rank for that guild rank.
So for instance, if you promote somone in the guild to Member, their alliance rank would default to member. If you promote them to Officer then their alliance rank changes to officer, so long as there are spare alliance officer slots remaining.
The game could set some inital defaults for each of the generic guild ranks, but a dropdown box on the Guild options tab for each guild rank along with the other properties would mean the guildmaster could change the default alliance rank after that rank had been created.
The option is only to set the default rank. After a character has changed rank it can then be changed as normal.
This would ease some of the burden on admin for lazy GMs like myself, espcially after a server transfer as has just happened on Karak-Hirn.
