decent games other than WoW?

ok im starting to get bored of daoc and ikeep rolling lvl 20 alts etc etc to take up boredom of playing mains

i am considering selling up and playing other games so IN YOUR OPINION what good games are out there similer to daoc/diablo 2 that are good to play and lotsa fun ?

Sounds like the voice of experience........... but I have to agree - its fun.

theres always EQ2 but SoE seem to be fucking that up just like SWG.
Personaly, im enjoying RL RPG's with some friends, and playing <blush> Sims 2 </blush> in my other time.

Playing Planetside, rarely get enough time to play MMORPGs at the moment, but to log on and just kill someone is good

Dude, i played that from first open beta and it was amazingly cool for that period. Then it went live, and within a month i was bored out of my arse, tbh. Same content, boring stories, stale landscape, rotten community. The fact it lacked PvP was a drawback, but personally, i think a stand alone version would be far more attractive to me now i've played it - then again, we already have Freedom Force /shrug

dunno how it could be THAT good when the PvP will be viciously unbalanced, and the content just gets stale too quickly, imo...

City of heros ill say this , its fun for the first 20 levels then you realise you got another 30 levels of exactly the same thing. basically think instance dungeons but all inside warehouses and that is what city of heroes is like.

Although they are now tweeking it to bring in pvp when city of vilans comes out.

im going to have to come out in support of CoH seeing as no-one else will

it is quite samey, granted, but its done entirely thru money, and putting enhances in powers, thus there are no *phat lewt* or expensive drops to aquire, so you dont need to play 24/7 to get anywhere with it, you can solo reasonably ok, and most of the storylines are quite well done, only PvE tho currently. Getting to 50 isnt a prob really, alts get boring tho, most people tend to PL them thru herding
Also the lack of PvP means a lot less kiddies around as a rule, more mature sensible people ,and a more relaxed atmosphere

Its only slow and dull in the begining.

When you've trained skills up and got some money/items from Complexes its quite fun when you get into the PvP, lots of tactics needed, and knowledge+skill is quite a big factor, like a small corp can keep down a large one just doing the right things, kinda like a fg able to keep back a zerg now and then.

Char creation is nice and the areas different, I don't play it often but mostly for a change of scene.

Someone mentioned Eve, its good for a more relaxing type of game... but it is something of a 'grind' unless you find yourself a 1337 corp, but then you are likely to be hunted to buggery... which is a shame. In the early stages it was good.

I usually subb to a few games and move between them, that way nothing is 'boring' quickly and you can change if you think that levelling (if it is done in the game(s) you choose) is slow. Planetside/ CoH or possibly DAOC is what I am playing at the moment. Enjoying Thidranki and if that gets a little zergy then I go onto PSide
