Debugging Run-Time Errors

Whilst visiting certain sites in IE, it pops up a dialouge box saying "Runtime Error. Do you want to debug? Yes No"

Obviously I couldnt give two figs that they have messed up the coding on their website, I think its java related...

What I want to know is, is there a way of turning off this dialouge box and say that I never want to debug it?

This always fires on the same sites and its annoying. One of the sites is the vodaphone one where you check your bill.

This is an up-to-date IE6 on Windows XP.

Bah, bloody months Ive been trying to figure this out on my own. Post here and I suss it shortly after.... Oh well.

For those that are interested this is how to disbale it. (I have no idea how it got switched on in the first place)

- Select “Tools/Internet Options/Advanced” from the Menu Bar at the top of the browser window

- Under “Browsing”, CHECK the box that is captioned “Disable Script Debugging”

- Apply, OK, etc and thats all there is to it...

Hi Dr_Weasel
  • Start Internet Explorer
  • Click 'Tools' > 'Internet Options'
  • Click the 'Advanced' Tab
  • Tick the 'Disable script debugging' under the 'Browsing' tab, and untick 'Display a notification about every script error' underneath
Hopefully this should fix the problem :)

Kind Regards

Edit ~ Too late was the cry :)

Thanks Jonty, once again you prove to be the fountain of all knowledge. Either that or you copied my answer really quickly :D

Jonty copies answers instead of just knowing them? That's just shattered my entire belief system :(
