Code:
512Mb Micron PC2100 DDR - ECC Registered £229.12
512Mb PC2100 DDR Memory (Major) £139.82
ok, could somebody please tell me the main differences (apart from price) between registered ddr ram, and "normal" ddr ram? is it worth paying that much more for the top one?

Registered runs error correction checking. Handy for servers, and some mobos support more RAM if it is registered.

so i don't really need it then? :)

/edit
This latest piece of ABIT Engineering includes 4 DIMM sockets, allowing the KR7A-RAID to support up to 4GB of registered DDR SDRAM or 3GB of unregistered DDR SDRAM memory.
i think 3gb will do for now :p

on a kind of different subject...
Code:
AMD Athlon XP 1900 (1.6GHz) Palomino Core £195.27
AMD Athlon XP 2000 (1.67GHz) Palomino Core £245.81
are those 70mhz really worth £50?

no but the cpu is new therefore it always sits a 'quantum leap' away from the lower speeds in pricing...

I personally have unreg memory but should I find the need for 4GB of DDR it would have to be regs version.
