hey,

just got a new pc:

athlon xp1800+
512ddrram
XFX geforce4 ti 4200 64ddr version
soltek mobo

well when i run q3 its really dark. i have been into settings and turned the brightness to the max and it does not make the slightest bit of difference. is there any way i can sort this problem out i am running q3 @ 1024x768 with all the effects turned up to the max, any ideas guys.

p.s. i am runnign windows XP pro by the way, using all the latest drivers available.

either
set r_ignorehwgamma to 0 and use the r_gamma command , which will work if ignorehwgamma is 0 , or fiddle with r_intensity (this makes shiny things shine more, and small changes make larges differences, so try 1.5 etc.)

Pull down the console and type r_gamma 4 :D

Turning on vertex lighting helps from my experience although setting r_gamma higher than the default of 1 will suffice.

Yeah as mentioned. This is because by default the Geforce line of cards render OpenGL very darkly for some reason, way darker than 3dfx cards for instance.
