Havent played one, but I can imagine they are not that bad in a caster heavy group.
Good secondary Mezzer with Quickcast, AE Mezz and Pbaoe mezz and Intercepting pet...
Can Debuff for Runecarvers, and runecarvers can debuff for sm
And ofc Lifedrain nukes.
A skilled Dark Spiritmaster can probably find its place amongst the more open minded players.

My brother respecced to darkness a couple of weeks ago, and he enjoys it alot more than suppression. He finds it harder to get group with darkspec than with suppression spec though.. and one good thing with darkspec is that you can afford 24 summ, for the ress

they dont get a casted stun, but thier champion pet can proc a short duration stun (afaik with no immunity...like theurg pets)

Weird.
Shafu cast a spell!
You are mesmaerized!
then he started nuking but i still couldn move, 5 nukes later i was dead, and the pet didn't hit me one time.

Must be one i have then, been getting stunned mid fight by SB's too lately, and i did check if they evaded and did comeback/frosty....... Weird still tho

Nah no spell mesages either just this weird 'stuns' where i can't move or do styles. annoying since it has happened 3 times and i really don't know why it happens

if you look at the vn reports at all you will have maybe seen a report that it is there intention to do the following for mid classes
thanes spells will get revamped
realm abilitys will be reworked
darkness and summon sm with be looked at and spels redone to make them more group freindly
runcarving and darkness rms will be also looked at to make them more group freindly when i fond the link again ill post it but basicly mythic are looking at revamping mid classes inline with the compeat reworks both albs and hibs have had in last few patches

I very much like to play my Darkspecced Spiritmaster!
In RvR i blast guys away with 3 to 4 lifedrains. First some insta debuffs, then some mezzs and then blasting away!!!
The most I like is to see ppl's face when I rez them and give them some life back
And for keepdefense is the AEmez awesome.
These chars are uber when played well, but you really need to learn playing them, so NO PLing for these guys.
PS Only problem i find is the range of our spells!
