Darkness RM, or Darkcarver?

Been wondering about which of the specs is most viable to go for, been reading up on it, and havent really concluted anything "OMG, I BOLtED SOMEONE 900!" and "OMG I NUKED SOMEONE FOR 650!1" doesnt give you an proper impression, anyone got suggestions or some advice?

i don't have one, but it seems darkness is fotm atm
all i know is that bolts have that nasty timer, miss quite often and can be blocked

If you are going to spend alot of time in NF. Then GTAOE is always handy from darkcarver. If you team up with Dark SM or Dark Runie on a regular basis then darkcarver is handy ... if you like to be as far away from your enemy as possible and like to bolt people, then darkcarver is nice.

If you want a good DA and you team up with a darkcarver alot, then become a dark runie.

Well as far as I can tell darkness runie is better for groups and openfield RvR while darkcarver are great in keep takes/defence. With the RC cold debuff being so short you really need to be 2 runies to get the most out of it.

My runie is going either 47rc and 26supp (love nearsight) or 48rc 11(first nearsight?) with rest in darkness.

I have a darkcarver runie and love him, the general utility is great, cold debuff + cold nuke, bolts, GTAE. Always seems like i have something to use against someone at any given time. With regard to bolts, I never try and bolt a tank as it just gets blocked, only use them against other casters and if both bolts hit ( they usually do) then it drops them straight away.

47 rc 26 sup is a lot of fun ns nme casters then bolt bolt dead and gtaoe is usful too .. the nukes not that bad .. was full dark before and tbh its really limiting .. only thing going for u is good nukes thats it

I've been 50 dark and 20 supp since like forever and I love it. The nukes are insane atm with all the ToA gear, I often find myself nuking for 7xx+2xx dmg. I just recently respeced to 50 dark, 19 RC for first gtaoe, and I must say I like that even more. The basic thing is the same but first gtaoe is great for destealthing ppl (I've never got a resist). You nuke harder than with darkcarving and you don't have to waste any time debuffing, you lack the bolt dmg, but one bolt is good for interuption archers etc.. You also still have the debuffs (dex and str) which are quite handy, especially the dex one imo. So the only thing I miss from that spec is NS but 20% NS ain't that good anyway when ppl run around with 10% extra range

Um, why in heaven's name would you decide to lose out on the last cold resistnace debuff? If you are a self-debuffer, then be a real self-debuffer, not a half-assed one. (In other words, you need 48 RC if you are going to be a darkcarver.)

Moriath never claimed to be a darkcarver - he even talked about the RC nukes as "not too bad" so my guess is he just gave his view of a fun spec.

Yup i never use the dark nukes

Just like using the rm for its utility ns gtaoe bolts ENERGY NUKES cant say i have ever used the debuffs specially now they are just wayyy to short to be effective imo .. 2 bolting chanters is fun

Oh the pbt is nice too specially with melee combat and even better with volley not going thro pbt soon

if you looked his spec was 47rc and 26 supp...

mystik was this up to bout rr5 because of pbt and bolts and it was always my favourite spec!

i rarely had a problem with bolts and only chars who u dont bolt are tanks...and any rc runie knows this so they compensate quite easily.

the nukes are amazing but you rock against casters and add the lil extra with pbt which isnt essential in rvr nowdays but is always good as a lil backup.
