i run 2 daocs running 2 daoxs on my puter.
one is normal daoc
and one is SI daoc.

i get no lag etc.

both work fine, but when i want to auto stick the other one just slows down and dosn't auto follow any more.

im assuming this is because only 1 daoc is active so the other screen lags behind a bit ?

anyway 2 stop/sort this ?

very smart to post that here, especially since Kemor and Zargar read these forums as well :great:

buying another PC tho seems to be your best option..:)

Well it will be legal to play 2 accounts on the same computer, but still illegal to use Daox :)

You need a high end pc to run two copies of SI or DAOC on the same machine.

Win2K seems to be the better choice. (Over XP or 98SE).

To play without loosing /follow (but not lag-free.. even the fastest PC on the planet can't play lag-free in the large cities), try this:

AMD XP2400 (or the Intel equivalent)
1024MB DDR memory (Basically 512mb for each copy you want to run)
A decent/highend vidcard.

As with all things, the more money you spend, the better it will run. Lots of people have asked this same question on the IGN boards. :)

Best way to avoid the problem is to put auto run on the leader, then switch to the following character, swtiching back to change direction every so often. Use follow and not stick as it has longer range. The leader will slow down a bit, but the following character keeps up. Or so I've been told anyway...:p

yea that works just have 2 keep swapping between them most of the time, and its abit slow hehe.

If you want auto-follow to work you're going to have to put up with choppy performance unless you have a dual-processor machine or the new hyperthreading enable 3gig P4s

To get auto-follow to work
1) Start Menu>Settings>Control Panel>System>Performance
Set application preference to background.

This will then evenly split the CPU cycles between both applications.

Start both sessions in window mode. I seem to get best performance in these instances by switching the priority level on both game.dll sessions to below normal or low. I have no idea why.

1.60 does not improve this at all. You just have to live with the fact the the netimmerse game engine (although looking fantastic in Morrowind) is incredibly uneconomic and badly coded, and eats your system resources like nothing I've ever seen including M$ bloatware.

Dual processors, or hyperthreading however would significantly improve this performance though. My next purchase is to upgrade my 2.6 P4 to a 3.06 P4 as I already have an hyperthreading capeable mboard.
