Daoc, Windows XP and non-administrator account

Is there any way to get daoc working with Windows XP (Professional) and user account which does not have administrator rights?

Tried google, so far only found a thread on vnboards where someone said it works if the user has full control to game directory - helped a bit, got past login but game still crashes after selecting character.

I dont see why it shouldnt.

If the user installs the game, cuz if not there might be some file cross user read/write priviliges mumbo jumbo.
I have a similar setup myself, with a separate gaming account user level.

I installed it under "gaming" acct. works fine for me.

Might be some other stuff that interferes.

Like Direct-x related or smt.
