I tried Daoc under Wine the other day. It worked but some colors were a bit off and the screen resolution wasn't correct. It showed a 800x600 game window inside a larger black window. But it worked, I could move, fight and chat. It was fast too.

I patched the game in Windows and copied the stuff to wine fake windows directory on top of the original install. Patcher didn't work inside Linux first but after that the patcher started working and it checks updates correctly.

My linux is Fedora core 1 and Wine is the latest which I found as ready RPM packages.

However I still choose to use windows for Daoc, wine+daoc wasn't that polished yet.

'Tis pish easy. Download .isos, burn them to a CD, insert CD, follow instructions.

Even easier if you're installing one of the so called 'noob friendly' distros.

problem, i dont have a cd burner, is there anyway around that, such as virtual cding
or
on the mandrake site there is two versions

Most distros have a net install which make you able to install it directly from the net, only need to dl a boot img, which is a few disk's depending on the distro etc.
