So basicly DAoC is fun when in groups, soloing is fun too but the real joy comes from fighting with your comrades.
Now what if the power goes out?
What if net ain't working?
What if your father needs to download "documents" from the webby?
It's fustrating to not be able to play the game you love. But, have no fear for Teh Seel is here with a new and exiting game:
DAoC Reality Guild Hunt!!
Now, these are the basic elements you need.
-2-8 players: Friends will do fine, or your little sister if you don't have that many friends. This is best played in large groups so take your time in organising it.
-Guildcloaks: Anything similar will do. Improvise. Bedsheets with a blue round thing on the back. They don't even necessary have to be similar, there arn't that many people around with bedsheets around their necks. Atleast where i live. Don't know about you.
-Weapons: All hunts require weapons. Too bad the modern law kinda, "kinda" stops you from using anything sharper then a carrot. But, let's not despair. Use what you can find. Here's a list of items that may be used as a weapon in DAOC-RGH:
-Bag of Bread.
-Bag of Garbage.
-Bag of Anything.
-Sock filled with Stuff. (Jellybeans work excellent)
-Little Sisters Barbie Doll. (-1 to charisma)
-A Box Of CD's. (throwing weapon)
-A sausage.(salami, whatnot.)
-Sausages(nuncha style.)
-Carrots.
-Improvise.
Improvise is the keyword here.
Armor: Here comes the fun part. You need anything that can withstand the harsh elements of DAOC-RGH. Layered clothing, skimasks, paintball gear, ovenmits and ofcourse leather. Leatherjacket is an excellent stopper. Metal is always metal so if you can rope together some crude armor, go for it!
Ok, now you have 2-8 very oddly dressed people standing at your house and your mother is screaming at you for destroying most of the kitchen and bedroom. Everything is set. Now it's time to find a location.
Location is the key to a good Reality Guild Hunt and what better place then a large urban area with loads of mobs to go around. Shopping mall is considered as a prime location, but beware, those places are usually camped by other DAOCRGH'ers. But if you're lucky the shopping mall is empty of such pests. Basicly any big enough store will do. Sports Goods store is an excellent as there are many weapon loots to go around.
Now it's time to play.
BASH! You've played DAoC right? Right. Hit anything that comes along with whatever is your weapon and always remember to keep on one enemy at a time. Drop the enemy fast, grab the loot and run to the next. It's as simple as that. Remember, some mobs do Bring a friend, but mobs like [Elderly Citizens] are a prime target. Just don't hang around too much or the level 65+ [Police Officer] will be sure to get you. These are Area of Effect mobs and higly dangerous. Also you should remember that unlike DAoC, this game has no release/resurrection possibility so be extra careful.
On a plusnote, the world is based on havoc so stuff will break, things will fall realisticly and the gravity effects are suberb.
So, next time you can't play DAoC due to your sister, act of god or just GOA, go out and have fun with DAoC Reality Guild Hunt!!
EDIT:
IF by some chance, be it a brief loss of sanity or the gum you found in the dumbster, you decide to play a stealthclass, here's the guidelines to best achieve this goal:
-Wear all black. Your cloak will have no marks on it, just black. Also a hood is necessary to be elite in your stealthines.
-Weapon of choice should be a pencil, short stick or some other, non-lethal, most silly looking and ridicilously small item.
-Stay at home. Noone can see you so you achieve your goal perfectly. Your neighbors, family or roommates might wonder why you sit at your bed, wearing all black and weilding a pencil but...they can't see you so don't answer back. It's only a trap to lure you out of stealth.
