anyone tryed getting daoc to work on a eeepc?

so far i have seen vids of eeepcs running

EVE
HL2
UT4
Morrowind
Linage 2
RTCW

and...

Oblivion and farcry!

what the ruddy hell!, its a 600mhz clockable to 900mhz cpu with 512 upgradable to 1gb of ram!

thats incredible!

So maybe daoc is possible! on its gonna be on a 7inch screen but still....

heh ya thought most people would know what it was

its my next toy, its tiny size makes it ideal for college and uni considering its the size of a large book.

Tho the face that it can run games is just gonna be a distraction :p

Actually running a program and having the program being usable is 2 seperate things imo. 800x480 screen sounds a wee bit to small in my opinion.

while the 900mhz and 1gb ram might still be fine for daoc in toa look, i'm not sure if the gma900 works with daoc. add to this only 8gb ssd, which will be a close call regarding hardiskspace.

ofc you could run the client via an external usb hd, but still, 900MHz on shared memory gfx will prolly suck donkeyballs.

tried it once on my GFs notebook with 1.5ghz pentium m with 512MB DDR-400 and gma950 and it really sucked.

so i wouldn't recommend that.

get yourself a 2nd hand thinkpad, with dedicated dx7/8 gfx, that will do the job. and thinkpads rock imho.

Greetings

I saw something on the Mythic website where a portable version of DAoC was already available. I forgot about it as it looked ugly :/
