There seem to be a lot of posts about Daoc locking on AMD Dual core machines. As I had the same problem I went searching on VN and found the following link to AMD, which solved the problem for me after installing the processor driver:

There are two versions, one for 64bit supporting Windows and one for the 32bit ones.
Unfortunately I’m not smart enough to find out such things myself, therefore due credit goes to the original author Bringins. His thread is here:

I hope this may help some of you. It worked on my machine and lets me play with both cores working.
